Peter Rabbit goes to Holly Pond

I had made this toy theatre about six years ago, but realised it needed a little uplifting, it was lacking surroundings. Around the top edge are feathers, diamantes, and paper flowers. The lid actually comes off so you can use the toy theatre.

It has a curtain across the theatre. I will show the scenes of it shortly.

Extra Feminine Toy Theatre - Marie Antoinette in 'Keeping up Appearances'

It's been quite a long time since I've shared some of my own altered art projects. As with keeping what is dearest to me at the moment (toy theatre/theater) I have constructed a much larger framework for my latest toy theatre.

It is of various scenes of 19th century France, and in particular, toy theatre/theater.

The curtaining is made up of ribbons, and some of these with the pretty rose buds are imported from France. Then I've used a variety of Prima flowers (silk) to decorate the stage top, along with a Mamelok relief die cut.

The bottom of the stage is made up of various scrapbook papers. I've added pearl accents, Brenda Walton embellishments and again extra flowers.

The Hall of Lights below was made by my illustrator William. He also made the theatre scene above, and also the last panel with the floating hot air balloon.

This was fun to work on and I have more scenes yet to come by my illustrator Ed Butler. These will consist of other drawn panels.

Alice in Wonderland Revisited

Another toy theatre undergoing the 'altered art' treatment. They are in random order.

Here we go heaps of images to occupy yourselves with:

Reflections of the way life used to be

As you can see depending on light conditions the theatre takes on different colour tones.

This is an assemblage piece using construction techniques and basic/simple engineering principles; and with paper tole techniques. Papers have been mounted on foam board.
