Mucha's Seasonal Ladies - The Face on the Wall

Mucha's seasonal ladies altered art book.

This altered art book was a book bought from HOTP (who had specially designed books for altered art).

It was then given the ultimate makeover using Mucha's seasonal girls.

Sticker phrases have been added to this page.

And we start with Spring:

Move onto our warm Summer:

Then Autumn moves in with its vibrant reds, oranges and browns:

Icy Winter with its blues and whites:

Altered Art Cube

This cube is made of chipboard. I have used a variety of techniques in applying Tattered Angel's Glimmer Mist. I also experimented in using 7 Gypsies dye inks that gave a matte finish.

Some ideas used have been sponging, braying, squirting, and then a mixture of these.

Then vintage clips and Tattered Angel's Glimmer Chipboard has been used to decorate the cube. It is somewhat romantic in its imagery. Babies too.

Light Switch

Well, this is real altered art stuff, my daughter saw the state of my laptop (yes, you've guessed it I have decoupaged it).

So she decided she would have a go, and when I went to say goodnight to her and was about to turn off the light, low and behold this is what I found:

Thank goodness she has only used Bluetac on it.

Byzantine Shrine

For those who love religious iconography here is a shrine made by Tatjana using a range of Byzantine cards, marblelized rubons, mica flakes, gold and silver leaf, and several coatings of antique French varnish. I don't know why this is categorised under transformational art; I think because it's a folder as has become a shrine.

A closer look

Here is a look inside the shrine with plenty of angels, saints, and Mary and Jesus.

The back panel of the shrine.

And have a look at the finer detail, it includes painting of tiny red, blue and white spots.

Altered iMac with Decopatch

Well, here it is the ultimate altered art alchemist work, my own little iMac laptop has had a severe makeover!

I didn't like the white colour, it always looked dirty and I got sick of cleaning it, so when I had seen what you could do with Decopatch tissues, decopodge and varnish on things like mobile phones, I decided I would try it on my Mac.

I'm probably the first brave person in the world to venture out in decorating their computer this way – that is using podge. I must admit I was a bit worried that the glue may slip into the motherboard, but I carefully applied every piece of ripped tissue. And girls, it is still going fine. At least it looks like it belongs to an artist now, check it out:

In Celebration of Pre-Raphaelite Women

This was an empty chocolate box, and now serves for a purpose – for some of my jewellery.

These images are from the story Camelot. The artists featured are some of my favourites: Rosetti, Millais and Waterhouse.

I have used K & Co's Amelia Wildflower in gold (Brenda Walton) paper.

The box opened:
(Here I have used K & Co's flocked paper by Brenda Walton, plus some beaded trim).

This panel of the box has smaller images of Camelot scenes overlaid with mica sheets to highlight them. It also has a ribboned pansy - just for fun.

Inside the box, the compartments (without the jewellery):
(Here I have also randomly added some tissue.)

And the back of the box – another story is unfolding here. I like to use an eclectic mix of stories. (and again more tissues randomly added.)
